I was born and raised in Kagoshima Prefecture, Japan, as the eldest of three sisters. Thanks to my grandmother and mother, who loved Kimono, I have been familiar with kimono since my childhood.
When I became a high school teacher and had the opportunity to go to England for language training, I regrettably could not explain traditional Japanese culture well to the locals.
